Hawaii is a top spot for those searching for the Aloha feeling, just to chill and be pampered!  The Hawaiian islands are also a hot spot for extreme sports enthusiast, the rough terrains and rip curls aren’t for the faint hearted!

Each year the Hawaiian Islands host the Ironman contest for the real sport enthusiast!
The Hawaiian islands were discovered by James cook who found the Hawaiians practising one of the early forms of extreme sports surfing.

This then lead to modern day Hawaii where the anti has risen and thrill seekers in Hawaii have moved on to very exciting dangerous activities which are enjoyed by visitors to the Hawaiian islands each year, thus they can’t stay away and return to the beautiful exciting islands in search of yet more fun and adventure there is so much to experience in the Hawaiian islands one visit is never enough!!

In ancient Polynesia one way of electing the village chef was to test a person’s skills whilst handling rip curls and traversing waves!

Surfing in Hawaii was practised when Mark Twain visited the islands in 1866, he noted crowds on the beach all eager to have their chance to surf the waves naked!

The popularity of surfing is down to the efforts of a local Hawaiian who took his version of surfing across the globe to what we know today as modern day surfing.

Duke Kahanmoku who started  as an Olympic swimmer the introduced surfing in the 1950’s, as duke became more popular so did surfing and its enjoyed by lots of cultures globally.
Surfing enthusiasts come from around the globe to ride those perfect waves.

The most popular surfing spots for their challenging waves include the pipline and kalapana in Oahu, Hilo on the Big island , Hanalei bay Kauai, and  Honolua bay Maui.

SHARK DIVING
Fancy getting all goose bumpy and up close and personal with a few sharks in search of food?
In the ocean surrounding the Hawaiian islands leark different types of sharks, Tiger sharks, Reef sharks, Galapogos sharks.

If you don’t fancy going down in the cadge then you are able to stay on the boat and view from a distance!!

SKYDIVING
This is an extremely dangerous activity, I can’t think of a better adrenaline rush than to hear the the wind whooshing through your ears and to feel absolutely free!

If you wish to see more of the Hawaiian islands than just the beautiful sandy beaches and the glistening blue sea then why not try your hand at extreme terrain biking, you will be tough after this experience if you weren’t before!

You will be riding over tough terrain, through historical routes, visit the sets for both Jurassic park and Godzilla.

Learn about how native Hawaiians lived long before their contact with Europeans view a world war two bunker which is now a museum!

Cycle up steep inclines then be at one with nature as you cross small streams and go through undergrowth, when you reach the cliffs you are in for a breathtaking view of the ocean and may see humpback whales if in season which is December – April.

KITE SURFING

If you want the thrill of speed whilst being propelled by air whilst surfing the waves of Hawaii, then prepare yourself for kite surfing or kite boarding!

Speed picks up as the kite glides through the air and the rider surf’s on the waves.
The surfer relies on the kite for propulsion they can change direction.

PADDLE SURFING

Don’t be fooled it may look easy but it takes more energy than an aerobic workout!  Visualise yourself standing on top of a paddle board whilst skilfully maneuvering his way through the waves, whilst at the same surfer driving the paddle onto the incoming swell! Managing to pivot perfectly! And
Not losing their balance whilst standing on the board!!

Even very experienced surfers find paddle boarding is a very satisfying sport as it gives them more vantage point, seeing incoming waves whilst steering clear of other surfers!

Take a few lessons and try your hand at paddle- board surfing, you can try paddle-board surfing on any of the Hawaiian islands.

Depending which time of year you visit Hawaii the waves can reach up to 65 feet  high competitions  only run if the waves are 40 feet high!!

Ocean users must be very mindful whilst enjoying the ocean as the under currant is very strong and can pull you back out to sea.
