The popularity of surfing is down to the efforts of a local Hawaiian who took his version of surfing across the globe to what we know today as modern day surfing.

Duke Kahanmoku who started  as an Olympic swimmer the introduced surfing in the 1950’s, as duke became more popular so did surfing and its enjoyed by lots of cultures globally.
Surfing enthusiasts come from around the globe to ride those perfect waves.

The most popular surfing spots for their challenging waves include the pipline and kalapana in Oahu, Hilo on the Big island , Hanalei bay Kauai, and  Honolua bay Maui.

This is an extremely dangerous activity, I can’t think of a better adrenaline rush than to hear the the wind whooshing through your ears and to feel absolutely free!

Not losing their balance whilst standing on the board!!

Even very experienced surfers find paddle boarding is a very satisfying sport as it gives them more vantage point, seeing incoming waves whilst steering clear of other surfers!

Take a few lessons and try your hand at paddle- board surfing, you can try paddle-board surfing on any of the Hawaiian islands.

Depending which time of year you visit Hawaii the waves can reach up to 65 feet  high competitions  only run if the waves are 40 feet high!!

Ocean users must be very mindful whilst enjoying the ocean as the under currant is very strong and can pull you back out to sea.
